In my essay Will William Lane Craig debate Richard Dawkins? I pondered whether William Lane Craig would debate Richard Dawkins—or rather, the other way around.
For his part, Richard Dawkins had stated the following, “I’ve never heard of William Craig…A debate with him might look good on his resume, but it wouldn't look good on mine!” (how does he know, if he has never hear of him???)
Well, by now he has taken place in a group debate which included William Lane Craig, Douglas Geivett, and Rabbi David Wolpe on the affirmative side of the question “Does the Universe Have a Purpose?” and Richard Dawkins, Michael Shermer and Matt Ridley on the other side of the aisle.
Also by now, we know (the real reason?) why Richard Dawkins did not want to debate William Lane Craig.
